MTD for Income Tax: Official Notification Received

We have now officially received notification from HMRC regarding Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax. This confirms that from 6 April 2026, self-employed individuals and landlords earning over £50,000 will be required to keep digital records and file quarterly updates using MTD-compatible software.

What This Means for You

If your total income from self-employment and/or property exceeds £50,000 in the 2024-25 tax year, you will need to be MTD-compliant from April 2026.

HMRC will begin sending letters to affected individuals in April 2025, so it’s crucial to start preparing now.
